This self-guided bike tour of Channel Islands Harbor and Oxnard’s beachfront starts from our location at Channel Islands Marine Emporium Landing and takes riders along Silver Strand Beach, passing the Port of Hueneme, the Scarlet Belle riverboat, the Ventura County Maritime Museum, and Peninsula Park. You’ll come across yacht clubs, museums, parks, and more as you make your way up the coast in Oxnard. The majority of the route is on a dedicated bike path away from vehicular traffic and is included FREE with half-day and full-day rentals.

Enjoy the leisurely ride along Silver Strand Beach, passing the Port of Hueneme along the way, the busiest commercial port between LA and San Francisco. You’ll come across awesome views of impressive yachts making their way in and out of Channel Islands Harbor, the Ventura Maritime Museum, and Peninsula Park! It’s your chance to get some exercise on dedicated bike paths and learn a little bit about the history of Port Hueneme on a self-guided bike tour included FREE with half-day and full-day rentals!

Silver Strand Beach

Referred to as “The Strand”, this beach offers a vibrant collection of postwar homes & multimillion dollar waterfront mansions, a small restaurant, bar, and surf shop.

The Scarlett Belle

Take in the gorgeous ocean sights with a paddlewheel riverboat. Offering charter cruises, the ship has two levels & and outside walk rounds on both decks.

Ventura County Maritime Museum

Complete with world class maritime art, ship models, and ocean breezes, this museum has an ever-changing calendar of exhibitions.

Peninsula Park

Features a picnic area, playground, recreation building, restrooms, showers, tennis courts, and nice harbor views.

What's included on my tour?

Our self-guided tours includes your choice of bike, a route map with all the great points of interest and historic facts about the area, a helmet, bike bag or basket, and a bike lock.

What do I need to bring?

We have your ride and route covered - so all you need to bring are comfortable clothes and shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, and your camera. And don't forget to bring some cash for lunch or a snack along the way! Bike bags/baskets are provided on all bikes for easy storage of items.

How long is the tour?

While on one of our self-guided tours, you can expect to be out exploring for 3 to 4 hours. This includes approximately 2 hours of riding time and 1 to 2 hours for lunch, shopping, photo opts, and exploring the area.
