Your self-guided electric bicycle tour of Tacoma's largest urban park begins at our location on the edge of Puget Sound is included free half-day and full-day rentals. Shop, eat, and play all you want. After rolling down the Mile-Long Waterwalk, pedal on to explore Point Defiance Park, the Stairs and Slides, and the Fort Nisqually Living History Museum.

Our self-guided electric bike tour is included FREE with half-day and full-day rentals and includes everything you need to build your own personal adventure as you power through Point Ruston and Point Defiance Park. This route will guide you along through incredible views of Tacoma’s Point Defiance Park, beaches, and gardens.

Begin at our location in Point Ruston, cruise on by the Stairs and Slides by the Point Defiance Ferry Terminal, then pick your route through Point Defiance Park or along the waterway on Owen Beach. Throughout your self-guided electric bike tour, you’ll find natural wonders like the Rhododendron Garden and the Mountaineer Tree. Other points of interest include the Fort Nisqually Living History Museum, Vashon View and Anthony’s Restaurant.

Stairs and Slides

This real-life chutes-and-ladders style stairs and slides is a perfect fun place to check out! You will find 6 sets of stairs and slides set on a 50-foot slope facing the marina and Peninsula Park. Take in the scenery with a little bit of fun!

Point Defiance Rose Garden

Summer is the best time to see the roses in bloom! Point Defiance Rose Garden was established in 1865 and features up to an acre with fragrant roses, rose-covered gazebos, and a wishing well.

Point Defiance Park

There’s truly something for everyone at Point Defiance Park! Enjoy your time exploring this giant urban park that features a zoo, a rose garden, ferries, beaches, dog parks and an old-growth forest.

Fort Nisqually Living History Museum

Fort Nisqually Living History Museum is a National Historic Landmark that brings the past alive. The museum reenacts what life was like in the 1850s for the Husdon Bay Company outpost in Puget Sound. There are several buildings open to the public including their visitors center and gift shop!

Point Defiance Duck Pond

An excellent spot to catch a glimpse of some wildlife! At Point Defiance Duck Pond you will find picnic tables, various wildlife, a footbridge, and a waterfall!

Point Ruston Historic Ferry

Originally built as a Navy vessel in Main in 1936. The boat was renovated above and beyond its original state before operating as a ferry on the Puget Sound in the 1070s. The still functional ferry was then quietly retired to showcase its history.

What's included on my tour?

Our self-guided tours include an electric bike, a route map with all the great points of interest and historic facts about the area, a helmet, a bike bag or basket, and a bike lock. Plus, our rental clerks are happy to help you select the perfect bike for your adventure.

What do I need to bring?

We have your ride and route covered - so all you need to bring are comfortable clothes and shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, and your camera. And don't forget to bring some cash for lunch or a snack along the way! Bike bags/baskets are provided on all electric bikes for easy storage of items.

How long is the tour?

While on one of our self-guided electric bike tours, you can expect to be out exploring for 3 to 4 hours. This includes approximately 2 hours of riding time and 1 to 2 hours for lunch, shopping, photo ops, and exploring the area.
